Announcements and Updates

New Filing Procedures: USCIS has announced that employers filing a Petition for a Non-immigrant Worker (Form I-129) should mail that form directly to the Vermont Service Center. Also starting on April 1st, employers filing an Immigrant Petition for an Alien Worker (Form I-140) should mail that form directly to the Nebraska Service Center. For more information, see link to uscis.gov factsheets

USCIS Transformation: USCIS, as part of its Transformation effort, has proposed dramatically changed procedures for filing applications and petitions electronically. In March, Tracker executives attended a meeting with USCIS officials on these changes. Tracker Director of Product Management Greg Walther also participated in an ILW panel discussing the proposed changes.

Tips and Tricks

Q: I need to customize a report with specific fields. Is this possible?
A: Yes! You have two options:
1) Using the web portal, go to: Select Company > View Company Reports > Run Report Wizard.  Select fields by placing a number next to each field you wish to include in the report -- the number indicates the order of that field's column in the resulting report, i.e. the field with '1' next to it will be in the first column, the field with '2' next to it will be in the second column, etc.  Sort if necessary, click the Export to Excel checkbox if desired, and then run the report.  Note that this only allows you to customize a report for one specific company.

2) Using Tracker 6, go to: Start > Programs > ImmigrationTracker606 > Report Wizard. Then follow the steps to create a new report or select a saved customized report. This feature will allow you to select multiple companies and many more fields than the web version.  You can even save a report for later use.  For more information, click the 'Help' button on the Report Wizard for a tutorial.

Case Study: Setting up Multiple Companies

One law firm has a corporate client with several different departments and each of those departments has a different set of addresses, internal/external contacts, Tax ID, etc. Our suggestion to this law firm is to set up each department as a separate company under the Company Details Screen while keeping a specific naming format for reporting needs.
For example: XYZ Hospital has various buildings and departments. Under the Tracker Company Details Screen, the law firm will set up the following companies:
1) XYZ Hospital (Oncology),
2) XYZ Hospital (Children’s),
3) XYZ Hospital (Orthopedic Services), etc.
By keeping the first part of the company name the same (XYZ Hospital), the client has the
flexibility to easily run reports on only a particular department or every department that begins
with “XYZ Hospital“.
